A piece of psychedelic rock history, featuring Dennis Nolan's iconic hidden-letter skull design for the Grateful Dead's 1967 Denver shows.

This original 1967 Family Dog concert poster (FD-82-1) promotes the Grateful Dead and Mother Earth's performances at 1601 West Evans Street in Denver, Colorado, on September 22nd and 23rd, 1967. Designed by artist Dennis Nolan, the striking psychedelic lithograph features a large, grinning skull with a portrait nestled in the nasal cavity. A closer look at the skull's teeth reveals a clever optical illusion, spelling out the words "Grateful Dead." The vibrant red, green, blue, and yellow color palette is characteristic of the era's counterculture aesthetic. The poster bears the Family Dog Productions copyright and the "No82-1" designation in the lower-left corner, identifying it as a first printing.

An essential piece for collectors of 1960s rock memorabilia, psychedelic art, or Grateful Dead history. Unframed and ready to be custom-mounted, this poster brings an authentic dose of Haight-Ashbury and Denver's underground music scene to a gallery wall, music room, or office.

Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Notable details include pinholes in the corners from previous hanging, minor edge wear, and a small tear near the bottom left corner.
